    Post-birth control syndrome is some symptoms which arise from 4 to 6 months after you discontinue your oral contraceptives.

    The symptoms revolve around periods which means whether you are having heavy periods, irregular periods, painful periods or no periods at all. The irregularities for menstrual cycle occur due to your body’s hormonal imbalances before taking the birth control pill. They may be the result of your body taking time to get back to normal hormone production required for menstruation.

    Some hormonal alterations may cause skin problems such as acne, loss of hair and fertility issues. People can also experience mood disorder, weight gain and migraine attacks.

    Several dietary and lifestyle factors can support your body in the recovery process. Make sure you take a balanced diet and have a healthy lifestyle before beginning with it. You should take healthy intake of protein, fiber and fat as oral contraceptives can lessen the levels of some nutrients in your body.

    The list consists of the following:

    • zinc
    • magnesium
    • folic acid
    • whole host of vitamins which includes – B-2, B-6, B-12, C, and E

    You need to take supplements for helping with the symptoms of post-birth control syndrome.

    You can go now to consult with the gynaecologist when you are having significant symptoms or concerned in any way. If you do not have your period within 6 months after stopping birth control, then you need to book a gynaecologist’s appointment.

    Hormonal medication is the only clinical treatment that can create a big difference in your life. The gynaecologist will test your blood to check for hormonal imbalances. Then he will give advice on several things to change your lifestyle. This includes – changes in activity, supplement recommendations and referrals to other practitioners. Specific symptoms will have their own treatments. For example, it is possible to treat acne by taking prescription-based medications.

    The possibility of post-birth control syndrome should not scare you in staying away from hormonal contraceptives. If you are satisfied with this method, then make sure you stick to it as suggested by your gynaecologist in London. It is important to know probable effects of quitting birth control and what can work as a remedy.
