Fixing the Signal Dropping Issue with Linksys Velop

    1.    Perform a Power Cycle

Give your Velop a new start by rebooting it. Some pending updates get a push this way. Also, temporary glitches are resolved. So, turn off your Velop nodes and wait for some time. Do not miss removing the power cables from the respective wall outlet.  Switch the nodes on and see if you are still facing signal dropping issue by trying to connect to the Velop’s WiFi.

    2.    Remove Extra Devices from Its Network

If you have connected many devices to your Velop network, then also you will face this issue. This overloads the network. We recommend you disconnect the extra devices from the network.  There is an easy way to remove all the devices at once. Want to know about it?  Simply change the WiFi password of your Velop and remove all the connected devices from the network.  After that, manually connect only the necessary devices by using the updated WiFi password.

    3.    Get the Velop Firmware Upgraded

You should consider updating the firmware on your Linksys device as the older firmware can stop the device from functioning well. Firmware updates are important to have your device working well. So make sure that you keep your device upgraded with the latest firmware version. Use your computer to access the Linksys router login page and do the login. After logging in you will reach the admin portal where you can get the firmware updated.

    4.    Get Closer to Accessing  Node

You might be trying to connect to the Linksys Velop network from a place that is outside the network range of the Velop node. This can be the reason for signals getting dropped. So, come closer to the Velop node and then access the internet signals. Or you can use an alternative device to connect to the Velop WiFi from a nearby location and see if the excessive distance is the reason for the problem.

    5.    Change WiFi Channel

Using an over crowded channel on your Linksys Velop device is yet another cause for the poor WiFi signals. If there are many users using the same channel then you will face this issue. You need to log in to your Linksys Velop and change the WiFi channel to a less crowded one.

    6.    Choose a New Location for Velop

The location of the Velopndes is important. If there are other networking devices around the node then you will have a WiFi interference issue. Apart from networking devices, home appliances and other EM waves radiating devices can interfere with the wireless signals thereby causing them to drop.

You should choose a new location for your nodes keeping into consideration the above given devices.

Besides, make sure that there are no reflexive surfaces, large water bodies etc near it.

    The Conclusion

The above given points will be helpful in getting better signals from your Linksys Velop nodes. Under any circumstances, if the WiFi signals do not improve, you should reset your Velop system to the default settings. This will erase the current configuration settings from them. After that, reconfigure the Velop devices and you are good to go. You will no longer be getting poor signals from your Linksys Velop system.
